It's obviously a tough situation for both of you, Emily. You really do an incredible job dealing with it. BD couldn't ask for a better caregiver and you are a wonderful example for your son! :)
Emily, neither of you wanted this to happen and the fact that it did gives you both a challenge to cope with in your relationship. I think though that you both are strong people and will somehow find ways to work as a close loving team together. No one ever said that life was easy, eh?
I'm 35 years old. I work in the government. I live with a Vietnam Veteran and our baby son. I angst a lot, but I also laugh a lot. I have so much that I should be extremely grateful, and yet the truth is that I want so much more.

Satan - How about a nice sponge bath? :-)
O272 - Thank you. It hadn't occurred to me there might be some kind of example effect with the Little Dude. Will ponder that one.
Rob - Nope, they didn't, which is just as well, or I'd sue!
